This section will help you:
• Choose a suitable location for the printer
• Inventory the parts of the printer as you unpack it

Picking a Suitable Location

The first step is to pick a suitable location for your printer. For peak
performance and usability, follow these guidelines:
• Place the printer on a sturdy, level surface.
• Do not tilt the printer 5 degrees or more in any direction. Doing
so may cause toner to spill or cause other malfunctions.
• Choose a room that is well ventilated and free of excessive dust.
Leave 20 cm space on the left side of the printer for proper
ventilation.

Caution:
Do not rapidly warm the printer room, which has been cooled
enough, using a heater. Otherwise, condensation may occur inside
the printer mechanism and cause the printer to fail in performing
normal printing. Wait until the printer gets accustomed to the room
temperature.

• To avoid exposing the
printer to extremes of
temperature, do not put the
printer in direct sunlight or
near a heater.
• Ideal room temperature is
from 15°C to 25°C (59°F
to 77°F). Humidity should
be between 30% and 70%
RH (no condensation).
