Water Piping Arrangement With Service Valve Kit
Servicevalvekitsareavailableonalltanklesswater
heatersystems.Allkitsincludetwofull-portisolation
valvestobeusedintheCOLDandHOTwaterlines.
Wheninstalled,thesevalvesallowonepersonfull
diagnostictestingandeaseofflushingthesystem.

NOTICES:

• B esuretoconnecttheCOLDwaterinletandthe
HOTwateroutletasshownonthewaterheater.If
reversed,thewaterheaterwillnotfunction.
• T heflowrateofHOTwatermayvarywhenmorethan
twofaucets(appliances,fixtures,etc.)arebeing
usedsimultaneously.
• T hepipesMUSTbecompletelydrainable.IftheHOT
waterfaucetsarelocatedatapointhigherthanthe
waterheater,placeadrainvalveatthelowestpoint.
Itisrecommendedtouseunionsandflexiblecopper
connectionsattheCOLDandHOTwaterlines.They
allowthewaterheatertobedisconnectedeasilyfor
servicing.
Usethefollowingguidelineswhenconnecting
theHOTWATEROUTLET:
• C onnectionsbetweenthewaterheaterandpoint(s)
ofuseshouldbeasshortaspossible.
• L ocalcodesshallgovernthepipingusedforwater
connections.
• T oconserveenergyandtopreventfreezing,insulate
bothCOLDandHOTwatersupplylines.Donot
insulatedrainlineorpressure-reliefvalve.
