Themountinglocationforthewaterheatershould
allowforeasyaccessandoperation.

Thewaterheaterisdesignedtobeinstalledeither
insidethewallcavitybetweenthewallstudsor
outsidethewallcavity.Eitherinstallationrequiresthe 
waterheatertobesupportedwithawoodensupport
bracebetweenthewallstuds,orapieceofwood
thatisequalinsizetothewaterheaterandsecurely
attachedtothewallstudsbeforethewaterheateris
attachedtoit.Thispieceofwoodcanbeinstalled
insideoroutsideofthewall.Usewoodscrewsto
securebracketstowall.Ifmountingtoaconcrete
wall,uselagboltsdesignedforconcrete.

 Makesuretheproperelectricaloutletorsupply
(120VAC/60Hz)isavailableandlocatednearthe
unit.Direct-ventmodelscomewitha6-ft.(1.8-m)
powercord,whiletheoutdoormodelsrequirehard-
wiringortheadditionofaplug.

 Positiontheuppermountingbracketandpartially
installthecentermountingscrew.Theclearance
betweenthescrewheadandthewallshouldbe
about1/8in.(0.3cm).Hangtheupperbracketon
thescrew.
NOTICE:

Theimageabovemaydiffer
inappearancefromyourwaterheater.

 Usingtwomountingscrewsandwashers,securethe
lowermountingbrackettothewall.Then,secure
theuppermountingbrackettothewallwithtwo
mountingscrewsandwashers.
