1.
Turn off the printer. Leave the power cord plugged in to provide a
ground path for static electricity.
2.
Push the top cover release to open the top cover.
3.
Remove the two self-tapping screws (M4 x 16) which secure the top
cover to the upper mechanical unit.
4.
Lift up on the top cover panel to disengage the top cover's hooks from
the upper mechanical unit.
Reverse these steps to reinstall the top cover.
