Pressing the SPORT button, fitted
in both models, activates up to
35 Nm in the middle engine speed
range below the maximum torque.
The new 911 GT3 RS passes
the 100 km/h (62 mph) mark in
4.0 seconds. Short ratios increase
the ventilation and acceleration
potential in all six gears. Consistent
aerodynamics, designed for down-
force, allow high cornering speeds
and excellent driving stability and
performance. However, the maxi-
mum speed is still an impressive
310 km/h (193 mph).

ratio is 3.2 kg per hp. In the new
911 GT3 RS it is 3.0 kg per hp.
In conclusion: increased power
and performance – but with fuel
consumption comparable to that
of their predecessors. In addition,
both engines meet the stringent
requirements of the Euro 5
emissions standard.

A consistent supply of oil to the
engines even at times of high
lateral acceleration, is ensured by
a dry sump lubrication system
(page 36) with an external engine
oil reservoir. The oil is cooled by
an oil-water heat exchanger. Both
of these systems have proven
themselves on the racetrack.
