6-5. Filter Compensation Function

The L-478's filter compensation system uses industry-standard filter naming to
introduce lens and light source filtration to the meter. It also enables entering favorite
filter names and values to customize meter to your shooting needs. Up to four filters
can be used as a pack with the exposure display compensated for all.
A filter Icon
will appear at the top of the Measuring display screen whenever a filter
factor is being used.

6-5-1. Setting Filter Numbers and Compensation Values

These can be set in steps of 0.1 EV at a range of
±5.0EV.
1. Touch the Tool Box icon (
of the screen to open the Tool Box screen.
2. Touch the [Filter Compensation] to display
the Filter Compensation Setting screen.
3. Touch the radio button of [Input Filter
Comp. Value] to display the keypad on Input
Filter Comp. Value.
4. Touch numbers on the keypad to input the
transmission loss amount in EV (stops) (See
P12 for details) and the value will appear in a
box at the top of the display. Touch the [OK]
to enter the compensation amount and return
to the Filter Compensation Setting screen
where the compensation amount will appear
next to the to the Input Filter Comp Value
indication.
5. Touch [OK] at the bottom of the screen to
return to Measurement Screen to start taking
readings with entered filter factor.

Plus compensation will cause over exposure in shooting and
minus compensation will cause under exposure. Use minus
compensation value for filter compensation.
