Advanced (Recording pictures)
·The 20 mm/F1.7 interchangeable lens included in the DMC-GF1C utilises a lens drive system
to realise a compact and bright F1.7 lens. As a result, sound and vibration may occur during
focus operation, but this is not a malfunction.
• Operating sounds will be recorded when Auto Focus is performed during Motion Picture
Recording. It is recommended to record with [CONTINUOUS AF] (P103) set to [OFF], if the
sound of
op,:~ration
bothers you to avoid recording the lens noise.
·The 20 mm/F1.7 interchangeable lens included in the DMC-GF1C cannot be set to [AFC].
Start recording by pressing the motion
picture button.

• The audio is also recorded simultaneously from the
built-in microphone on this unit. (Motion pictures
cannot be recorded without audio.)

will flash while recording motion pictures.
• Pres!; the shutter button halfway when it is difficult to focus on the subject.
• You can also switch to Manual Focus by pressing [AF/MF] and selecting [MF] (P74).

Stop the recording by pressing the motion picture button again.
• Sound will go off when pressing the motion picture button indicating start/stop of motion
picture recording.
Sound volume can be set in [BEEP] (P34).
• If the card becomes full in the middle of recording, the camera stops recording
automatically.

• Available recording time is displayed when the [REMAINING DISP.] (P127) in the [CUSTOM
MENU] menu is set to [REMAINING TIME].
• Refer to P1 88 for information about the available recording time.
• The available recording time displayed on the screen may not decrease regularly.
• Depending on the type of the card, the card access indication may appear for a while after
recording motion pictures. This is not a malfunction.
• The operational sound of the zoom or button operation may be recorded when it is operated
during the mcording of a motion picture.
• Audio will not be recorded for 0.5 seconds after it starts recording if it is kept pressed. Release
the motion picture button right after you press it.
• The screen may be blacked out momentarily, or the unit may record noise due to static
electricity or electromagnetic waves etc. depending on the environment of the motion picture
recording.
• When operating the zoom when recording motion pictures, it may take time to come into focus .
• If The Extended Optical Zoom was used before pressing the motion picture button, those
settings will be cleared, so the focus range will change dramatically.
• When the aspect ratio setting is different in still and motion pictures, the angle of view changes
at the start of motion picture recording. When

REC AREA] (P127) is set to ["], angle of
view during Illotion picture recording is displayed.
• The ISO sensitivity will be set to [AUTO] when recording motion pictures.
• When recording motion pictures, [STABILIZER] (Only available when a lens that supports the
Stabilizer function is attached) is fixed to [MODE1].
• When recording motion pictures, the following functions cannot be used.
