RESET TO FACTORY CONDITIONS

To completely restore your LaCie NAS to its out-of-box state, there are two parts: Reset Dashboard Settings
and Format Disks.

1. RESET DASHBOARD SETTINGS

Important info:
Following these steps will erase all Dashboard data such as users, groups, shares, and settings. It will also
reset the machine name to the default and reset the network settings to DHCP.
Note that this process will not affect attached external hard drives.
User data is moved to a folder named Recovery in an administrative share named Share.
1.
Make sure the product is turned OFF.
2.
Press and hold down the front button. Without releasing the front button, turn the product on by pressing the
power switch on the rear of the product.
3.
Keep the front button pressed until the front LED becomes solid red, then release it.
4.
The LED will blink red. Within 5 seconds, press the front button once to confirm reset. The front LED will blink
blue for several seconds.
5.
During system reset, the front LED will blink red/blue, then it will reboot.
6.
Product is ready when front LED is static blue.

2. FORMAT DISKS

Caution: Formatting will erase all the data on your drive (but will not remove users or settings). Make sure
to back up all your data onto another volume before proceeding. LaCie cannot be held for responsible for the
loss of data occurring during formatting.
