Choose the multiplexing method. Choices are VC-
based or LLC-based.
Enter the login name that this remote node will use
when it calls your Prestige. The login name combined
with the Rem Password will authenticate this node.
Enter the password used when this remote node calls
your Prestige.
Enter the login name assigned by your ISP when the
Prestige calls this remote node.
Enter the password assigned by your ISP when the
Prestige calls this remote node.
This field sets the authentication protocol used for
Authen
outgoing calls. Options for this field are:
CHAP/PAP – Your Prestige will accept CHAP or PAP.
CHAP – Your Prestige will accept CHAP (Challenge
Handshake Authentication Protocol).
PAP – Your Prestige will accept PAP (Password
Authentication Protocol).
This field determines the protocol that your Prestige will
route. Choices are IP, IPX, IP+IPX or None.
Bridging is used for protocols that the Prestige does not
route, e.g. SNA, or not turned on in the previous Route
field. When bridging is enabled, your Prestige will
forward any packet that it does not route to this remote
node; otherwise, the packets are discarded. Choose
Yes to enable or No to disable the Bridge field.
Choose Yes and press [
This will display Menu 11.2 – Remote Node PPP
Options. For more information on configuring PPP
options, see the section titled Editing PPP Options.
Enter the IP address of the remote gateway.
Choose Yes and press [
