Adding System Memory

There are some requirements you must follow if you want to
install system memory. The memory subsystem has four 72-pin
SIMM sockets divided into two banks, SIMM1 & SIMM2 and
SIMM3 & SIMM4. You must install SIMM modules in pairs us-
ing the same type and speed of module in each bank. This main-
board supports both Fast Page Mode (FPM) and EDO DRAM
modules. You can use module sizes from 2MB to 128MB, either
single or double-sided. The total supported memory capacity for
this mainboard is 256MB.
If your mainboard is already installed in a system, it will have
some amount of memory installed on the board. You can tell
how much by checking the configuration screen that appears
when the computer is starting up. With some memory installed,
there will be two sockets available to add additional memory.
D
It is possible to install more
memory than the board sup-
ports, e.g. four 128MB SIMM
modules would total 512MB,
but the board would ignore
256MB of that. Do not install
more than 256MB on this
mainboard.
