Memory Configurations

You can install any system memory combination as long as
you follow the basic requirement of installing identical modules
in both sockets of a bank, i.e.:
• All modules must be 5 Volt
• Same module memory capacity, e.g. 16MB (MegaBytes)
• Same DRAM memory type, e.g. EDO
• Same operating speed, e.g. 60ns (nanoseconds)
Other than these requirements, there is no limitation on the
variety of possible combinations, so they are not listed here.
Note: It is possible to install more memory than the board
supports, e.g. four 128MB modules would total 512MB, but the
board would ignore 256MB of that. Do not install more than
Memory Sockets
The picture above shows the
memory module sockets in
detail.
The SIMM sockets are num-
bered SIM1 to SIM4 as noted.
You must install modules in
pairs in either sockets 1 & 2 or
3 & 4.
Modules snap into place and
are held in position by a re-
taining clip at each end of the
SIMM socket.
When you want to remove a
module, press on the retain-
ing clips to release the mod-
ule from the socket.
