Preset commands

The MSG0804 and MSG0808 can store and recall 32 preset configurations,
accessible via RS-232 commands. The MSG0804 also has 12 presets available via
the front panel and the MSG0808 has 16 presets available via the front panel. See
chapter 3, Operations for additional information on the front panel.

Remote Control from a Network

You can control the MSG0804 or MSG0808 matrix switchers from a remote location
across a Local Area Network (LAN), a Wide Area Network (WAN), or even over the
Internet.
This remote network control is available in a client-server environment, where the
PC attached to the switcher is called the server, and the PC that needs to control the
device from another location is called the client.

Enabling remote control of the switcher over a network

Both the user operating the client (remote PC) and the user operating the server
(local PC) must install the ICS100 Control Software program onto their respective
PCs. See chapter 4, Windows-based Control Program, for information on installing the
software.
Each user—the one operating the server and the one operating the client—must
follow these instructions:

Changes the volume level for all inputs.

Saves the current configuration to preset memory.
• Where xx = Preset number 01 - 32
Recalls a stored preset configuration from memory.
• Where xx = Preset number 01 - 32
Attach the switcher to the server PC with a serial cable from the PC's serial
port to the switcher's serial port. For information on wiring the cable, see
Remote Control Port (RS-232/RS-422/RS-485) earlier in this chapter.
Click the Windows Start button, then select Programs, then ICS100, then
Serial Server. The Inline Server Software (the "server") launches and the
Serial Port Server window opens.
x = + (plus sign) to increment the output volume.
x = - (minus sign) to decrement the output volume.
x = @ to return the output volume to factory default.
x = ? to request the current volume level.
