APPENDIX B. DIAL PLAN CONFIGURATION

This appendix describes how to configure the DialPlanPbx, DialPlanIntercom, and DialPlanExternal
parameters. The dial plan applied is dependent on the realm that is assigned for the line (Reg.x.Realm).
GE and PE realms use the DialPlanExternal parameter, GP uses the DialPlanPbx parameter, and GI uses
the DialPlanIntercom parameter.
The following table shows the syntax for dial plan entries and explains the results.

Dial Plan Examples

This section provides the default dial plan for external calls and PBX environments. An explanation for
each portion of the dial plan is provided to assist you in understanding the dial plan. Adjustments can be
made to these parameters in the configuration file as needed for your situation.

Default External Dial Plan

The external dial plan is defined in the DialPlanExternal parameter. Table 15 explains the default numeric
string by breaking it down into pieces. Each portion of the dial plan is divided by a bar ( | ) in the full
string:

Result
Identifies a specific digit.
Specifies a range that will match a digit.
Matches any single digit that is dialed. Matches any
arbitrary number of digits or range of digits, including
none.
Specifies more than one dial plan using the | symbol
to separate them. For example:
911|9xxxxxxx|
Indicates an additional time out period (n = seconds
in length) before digits are sent. n is mandatory and
can have a value of 0 to 9 seconds. Tn must be the
last 2 characters of a dial plan. If Tn is not specified,
it is assumed to be T0 by default on all dial plans.
Note: The appropriate DialDelay* parameter must
be set to 0 (disabled) if these timeout periods are
used.
