8. Cutter deck drive belt replacement

Never attempt to change drive belts while the engine is runn-
ing. Remove the engine key from the ignition and disconnect the spark
plug cap to prevent accidental start up.
CAUTION:

Wear heavy gloves to protect your hands when replacing drive belts or
when working with cutter blades.

If the tractor has been running, the engine, muffler and radiator will be
very hot. Allow them to cool before proceeding.
1. Lower the cutter deck.
2. Loosen the belt tension adjusting knob. Remove the belt stopper B located
near the tensioner pulley and raise the pulley on the tensioner arm side.
Remove the belt from the pulleys starting with the one on the opposite
side.
3. Remove the belt from the cutter deck driven pulley.
4. Open the engine hood, and remove the belt stopper A by removing the two
6 mm bolts.
5. Remove the belt from the engine pulley.
6. Installation sequence is essentially the reverse order of removal. See Page
20 for belt tension adjustment.
