Single Slot Serial/USB Cradle

Problem
Mobile computer amber Charge
LED Indicator does not light
when mobile computer inserted.
Spare Battery Charging LED
does not light when spare
battery is inserted.
Mobile computer battery is not
charging.
Spare battery is not charging.
During data communication, no
data was transmitted, or
transmitted data was
incomplete.

Cause
Cradle is not receiving power.
Mobile computer is not correctly seated.
Spare battery is not correctly seated.
Mobile computer was removed from cradle or
cradle was unplugged from AC power too soon.
Battery is faulty.
The mobile computer is not fully seated in the
cradle.
Battery not fully seated in charging slot.
Battery inserted incorrectly.
Battery is faulty.
Mobile computer removed from cradle during
communication.
Incorrect cable configuration.
Communication software is not installed or
configured properly.
Solution
Ensure the power cable is connected securely to both the cradle and to AC
power.
Remove and re-insert the mobile computer into the cradle, ensuring it is
correctly seated.
Remove and re-insert the spare battery into the charging slot, ensuring it is
correctly seated.
Ensure cradle is receiving power. Ensure the mobile computer is seated
correctly. If the mobile computer battery is fully depleted, it can take up to
four hours to fully recharge a Standard Battery and it can take up to six hours
to fully recharge an Extended Life Battery.
Verify that other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the faulty battery.
Remove and re-insert the mobile computer into the cradle, ensuring it is
correctly seated.
Remove and re-insert the spare battery into the cradle, ensuring it is correctly
seated.
Ensure the contacts are facing down and toward the back of the cradle.
Verify that other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the faulty battery.
Replace mobile computer in cradle and retransmit.
