Battery pack

When the AC adaptor is not connected, the computer's main power source is a
removable lithium ion battery pack, also referred to in this manual as the battery.
You can purchase additional battery packs for extended use of the computer away
from an AC power source.
The battery is a disposable item. When its operation becomes short even when fully
charged, replace it with a new one.
CAUTIONS: 1. The battery pack is a lithium ion battery, which can
6-4
explode if not properly replaced, used, handled or
disposed of. Dispose of the battery as required by local
ordinances or regulations. Use only batteries recom-
mended by TOSHIBA as replacements.
2. Do not remove the Battery Pack while the computer is
in Standby mode. The computer could hang up the
next time you turn it on and data in memory will be
lost. The computer could also hang up at power on if it
shut down automatically in Standby mode because of
a low battery. In either of the above cases, the Standby
configuration will not be saved.
The following message appears when you turn on the
power:
WARNING: RESUME FAILURE.
PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE.
If the computer hangs up when you turn it on, perform
the following: Press the power button and hold it
down for five seconds, then turn the power on again.
