17. TROUBLESHOOTING
Insufficient engine coolant.
Overloaded engine.
Insufficiently tensioned fan belt, or
broken fan belt.
The radiator core is blocked.
Poor engine coolant quality.
Cause
Engine speed is too low
The Power Take Off (PTO) connecting
the tractor with the mounted implement
is not properly and securely connected.
Water is trapped in the fuel filter (water
sedimentor).
The engine throttle cable and linkage
have not been correctly adjusted.
Parking brake is engaged.
Insufficient transmission/hydraulic oil,
deteriorated transmission/hydraulic oil
or clogged transmission/hydraulic oil
filter.
Transmission/hydraulic oil is too cold.
• Add engine coolant.
• Check the radiator and the lines to and
from the radiator for leakage. If leakage is
found, contact your local Cub Cadet
Yanmar dealer for technical assistance.
• Operate the tractor carefully and
moderately. Avoid overloading.
• Adjust the fan belt to the specified tension
value, or replace fan belt if broken or
damaged.
• Check for dirt accumulated in the radiator
core and grille screen.
• It is possible that sludge has accumulated
on the engine water jacket. Contact your
local Cub Cadet Yanmar dealer for
technical assistance.
Remedy
• Run the engine at an appropriate higher
speed.
• Disconnect the Power Take Off (PTO)
shaft, and properly reconnect it. Check if
excessive vibration reoccurs. If excessive
vibration persists, immediately stop
operation and contact your local Cub
Cadet Yanmar dealer for technical
assistance.
• Drain the fuel filter water sedimentor.
Check for water in the fuel tank, drain as
necessary.
• Contact your local Cub Cadet Yanmar
dealer for technical assistance.
• Disengage the parking brake.
• Check the amount and quality of the oil.
Replace deteriorated oil. Refill as
necessary. Check the filter for clogging,
and replace the clogged filter with a new
one.
• Start the engine. Operate the tractor when
the engine has fully warmed up.
