Replacing the Toner Cartridge

Your Konica Fax 9825 has two components which allow it to print on plain
paper. The image drum unit contains a photographic drum that transfers the
received or copied image onto the page. The toner cartridge contains the black
powder that acts as your machine's ink. The number of pages you can print
with one toner cartridge depends on the type of documents you copy or
receive. Normally, a toner cartridge will print up to 2,500 pages (ITU #1). When
installing the first toner cartridge in a new image drum unit, the toner low
condition may occur between 500 and 1,500 pages. Be sure to have an extra
cartridge on hand for when toner becomes low.
Low toner message
When the Low Toner message is displayed in the LCD, the Konica Fax 9825
will be able to print 250 pages. Once those 250 pages have printed the display
will change to No Toner. When No Toner is displayed, the Konica Fax 9825 will
not print. Therefore, it is important that you change the Toner Cartridge when
the Low Toner message is displayed.
No toner reception
If your machine runs out of toner, it will continue to receive documents in
memory. When the toner cartridge is replaced, these stored documents will be
printed automatically.
Toner Cartridge Handling. Be careful when handing the toner cartridge. Do not
let toner spill onto your clothing or other porous materials. If you do spill toner,
small amounts can be removed from skin or clothing with soap and cold water.
Never try to remove toner with hot water, as this may cause the toner to bond
to clothing or skin. If toner is ingested, inhaled, or gets into the eyes, see the
" Toner First Aid Measures " section on page 6, and also refer to the Material
Data Safety Sheet (MSDS) that accompanied this equipment.
