Reading mode
- Auto sensing mode
When the power is applied, the scanner turns the illumination LEDs on and then off, and goes to standby. Upon
detection of a code within the scanning range, the scanner turns on the illumination LEDs if necessary, becomes ready
to scan, and scans the code. If approximately 3 seconds have elapsed after completion of scanning or if scanning has
not been completed within approximately 3 seconds after the scanner became ready to scan, then the scanner returns to
standby.
The scanner offers a choice of three sensitivity levels for responding to codes--"High," "Medium" and "Low."
In the auto sensing mode, the scanner starts scanning upon detection of a code. If the code symbol stays as is inside
the scanning range after completion of scanning, therefore, the scanner may repeat scanning operation.
Note 1: If the scanner cannot detect a code due to low ambient illuminance, it may not become ready to scan. (The
ambient illuminance of at least 30 lx is required.)
Note 2: There may be times when the scanner switches between the ready-to-scan and standby states due to
fluctuations in the ambient illuminance.
- Continuous reading mode 1
When the power is applied, the scanner becomes ready to scan.
If the scanner receives a Z command, it switches to standby; if it receives an R command, it becomes ready to scan.
You can select whether or not the scanner transmits an ERROR signal to the host when the scanner switches to
standby with a Z command.
- Continuous reading mode 2
This mode is functionally equivalent to the continuous reading mode 1, except that the scanner waits for a command
upon completion of scanning. To become ready to scan, the scanner should receive a Z command to switch to standby
and then receive an R command.
You can select whether or not the scanner transmits an ERROR signal to the host when the scanner switches to
standby with a Z command.
