Turning On the Projector Power
Press the POWER/STANDBY button of the remote control or the projector.
• A press of the POWER/STANDBY button will change the indicator of the POWER/
STANDBY button from the orange of the standby mode to flashing blue during
startup, and it will flash for approximately 60 seconds.
• When, after the indicator has flashed for approximately 60 seconds, it slowly
flashes in green, the Eco mode will be set to On. For information about the Eco
mode setting method see "Eco Mode" on Page E-56.
• When the LAMP/HEAT indicator is lit but the power does not turn on, see "When
an indicator is lit or flashing". See Page E-83.
Standby Mode

Turning On the Power for the First Time after Purchase

The initial setting screen will be displayed when the power is turned on for the
first time after purchase. Following the steps described below, perform the initial
settings.
If the video is blurred when using the KG-PV131X/131S, use the focus ring to

Technical Point
• The projector is equipped with a Quick-start function.
The video will be projected a little over ten seconds after
pressing the POWER/STANDBY button.
* The video will be projected; however, because the pro-
jector is starting up, the POWER/STANDBY button indica-
tor will continue to flash in blue.
• The projector is equipped with a function that performs
a password setting for the purpose of security protection.
When the password setting is performed, a screen will
be displayed such as the one illustrated below, and use
of the projector will not be possible unless a password is
entered. See "Set Password" for details. See Page E-75.
Note
While the POWER/STANDBY button indicator of the
projector is flashing in blue, it will not be possible
to turn off the power. Check that the indicator has
become a steady blue, or a slow-flashing green and
then turn off the power.
