Remote retrieval

You can call your MFC from any touch tone telephone or fax
machine, then use the Remote Access Code and remote commands
to retrieve fax or voice messages. Cut out the Remote Access Card
on the last page and keep it in your wallet to help you.

Using your remote access code

Dial your fax number from a telephone or another fax machine
using touch tone.

When your MFC answers, immediately enter your Remote
Access Code (3 digits followed by

The MFC signals the kinds of messages it has received:
1 long beep
2 long beep
3 long beeps
No beeps

The MFC gives two short beeps, which tells you to enter a
command. The MFC will hang up if you wait longer than 30
seconds to enter a command. The MFC will beep three times, if
you enter an invalid command.

to reset the MFC when you've finished.

Hang up.
If your MFC is set to MANUAL mode and you want to use the
remote retrieval features, you can access your MFC by waiting
about 2 minutes after it starts ringing, and then entering the
Remote Access Code within 30 seconds.
