Configuring the Starting Address

Each product requires a starting address from 1~512. A product requiring one or more channels for control
begins to read the data on the channel indicated by the starting address. For example, a product that uses
seven DMX channels and is addressed to start on DMX channel 100, will read data from channels: 100, 101,
102, 103, 104, 105 and 106. Choose the starting addresses for each product so that the channels used do not
overlap. In addition, you should note the starting address selected for future reference. The Line Dancer LED™
product uses four DMX channels. If this is your first time using DMX, download the DMX Primer from
www.chauvetlighting.com.

DMX Operation

This is the operating mode which will allow for control with an external DMX controller. You must set the starting
address for this mode. If you are unfamiliar with DMX, download the DMX Primer from
www.chauvetlighting.com.
1. Plug the DMX controller into the product.
2. Using the DIP switches 1~9, assign the DMX starting address.
The blue LED located directly to the right of the DIP switches will blink rapidly when the
product detects DMX signal.
This product will switch to DMX mode automatically when a DMX controller is plugged into the
product.

Master/Slave

This is the operating mode which will allow 1 product to act as the "master" and control all of the other "slave"
products. You must set both the master and the slave(s) products to the correct mode for this operation.
Master Settings:
1. You may choose to operate this product in Automatic or Sound mode on the master product. Please
see the standalone options for these settings.
Slave Settings:
1. Set all DIP switches to the OFF position.
The first product in the chain will automatically be set to the master. When all of the DIP switches on
the slave products are set to the OFF position, they will follow the master.
Do not connect a DMX controller to the daisy chain for this operating mode.
