Our new telephone system is not only more reliable than the
old Ericsson system it also offers many state-of-the-art tools
for improved communication.
Understanding Your New Telephone
Your new Nortel telephone operates more like your cell
phone than the old Ericsson telephones. In addition to
traditional fixed keys, it also uses what are known as "soft
keys" that change functionality depending upon what you
are doing.
When the guide refers to the telephone being "idle" this
means it is not being used to make a call. The reference to
the telephone being "active" refers to the telephone being
used to make a call or check voice mail.
