Expansion memory module

NOTE:
The computer has four memory slots. Expansion memory slots are located in a compartment
on the bottom of the computer. Primary memory slots are located under the keyboard.
When you add or replace memory modules, slot 1 must be populated before slot 2 is populated.

8192 MB memory module (PC3L-12800, 1600 MHz, DDR3)
4096 MB memory module (PC3L-12800, 1600 MHz, DDR3)
Before removing an expansion memory module, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove an expansion memory module:
1.
Spread the retaining tabs (1) on each side of the expansion memory module slot to release the
expansion memory module. (The edge of the module opposite the slot rises away from
the computer.)
2.
Remove the expansion memory module (2) by pulling the module away from the slot at an angle.
NOTE:

Reverse this procedure to install an expansion memory module.
