Encapsulation. Encapsulation is a method for enclosing multiple protocols. PPP stands
for Point-to-Point Protocol. The choices are PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet) or PPPoA (PPP
over ATM).
Telekom. Select the Telekom radio button if Telekom is your ISP. The following fields
display:

Connection identifier. The connection identifier provided by Telekom.

Telekom number. The Telekom number provided by Telekom.

Co-user suffix. The co-user suffix provided by Telekom.

Password. The password that you use to log in to Telekom.

Service Name (If Required). If Telekom provided a service name, enter it here.

Idle Timeout (In Minutes). If you want to change the login time-out, enter a new
value in minutes. This setting determines how long the modem router keeps the
Internet connection active after there is no Internet activity from the LAN. A value of 0
(zero) means never log out.
1&1. Select the 1&1 radio button if 1&1 is your ISP. The following fields display:

Login. The login name provided 1&1. This login name is often an email address.

Password. The password that you use to log in to 1&1.

Service Name (if Required). If 1&1 provided a service name, enter it here.

Internet IP Address.

Get Dynamically from ISP. Your ISP uses DHCP to assign your IP address. Your ISP
automatically assigns these addresses.

Use Static IP Address. Enter the IP address, IP subnet mask, and the gateway IP
address that your ISP assigned. The gateway is the ISP's modem router to which
your modem router will connect.
Domain Name Server (DNS) Address. The DNS server is used to look up site
addresses based on their names.
