VT12 Control Panel
The VT12 Control Panel is a software application that
runs on both PC and Macintosh. It provides real-time
control of the settings for the VT12, as well as additional
editing, file backup, and firmware updating features not
available on the VT12 itself.

Installing the Software

The VT12 Control Panel can be installed on a PC run-
ning Windows XP or a Macintosh running OS X.
Note: Check our website periodically (www.mackie.com)
to see if there are newer versions of the VT12 firmware
or Control Panel available to download.

Computer Requirements

These are the minimum computer requirements for
running the VT12 Control Panel.
For the PC:
Microsoft Windows XP SP2
Pentium 4, Celeron, or Athlon XP processor
256 MB RAM
For the Mac:
OS X 10.3.9
G4 or Intel processor
256 MB RAM
Installing the VT12 Control Panel
Before connecting the VT12 to a PC, it is necessary
to first install the VT12 Control Panel application. The
Macintosh OS X 10.3.9 (and above) has USB drivers
built-in, so it is not necessary to install drivers on a Mac.
However, you do need to install the VT12 Control Panel
on a Mac.
For the PC:
1. Insert the CD provided with the VT12 into your CD
drive.
2. Click "Start > Run > Browse" and navigate to the
CD drive. Double-click the file named:
"Setup_VT12.exe".
3. Click "OK" in the Run window.
Once the VT12 Control Panel is installed, connect
the USB port [40] on the VT12 to your computer's USB
port using a standard USB cable. Double-click the VT12
shortcut on your computer's desktop to launch the VT12
Control Panel.

For the Mac:
1. Insert the CD provided with the VT12 into your CD
drive.
2. Double-click the CD icon on your desktop and
locate the file named "VT12.zip."
3. Click-and-drag the file to your desktop or whatever
location you prefer (i.e., the Applications folder).
4. Double-click the "VT12.zip" file that you just copied
to your hard drive, and OS X automatically unzips
the VT12 Control Panel file and places it in the
same folder with the .zip file. (You can move the
.zip file to the Trash once the VT12 Control Panel is
extracted from the .zip file.)
5. Connect the VT12 to your Macintosh with a stan-
dard USB cable and turn it on.
6. Open the VT12 Control Panel and verify that the
Control Panel appears and the MAINS light is lit.
This confirms that communication has been estab-
lished between the Control Panel software and the
VT12.
