Rear Panel

The rear panel is where you make all your connections
to the VT12 (except for the instrument jack on the top).

39. AC Power Receptacle

This is a standard 3-prong IEC power connector. Con-
nect the detachable linecord (included in the box with
your VT12) to the power receptacle on the VT12, and
plug the other end of the linecord into an AC outlet. The
VT12 has a universal power supply that can accept any
AC voltage ranging from 100 VAC to 240 VAC (50-60 Hz).
No need for voltage select switches. It will work virtually
anywhere in the world. This also means that it is less
susceptible to voltage sags or spikes, providing greater
electromagnetic isolation and better protection against
AC line noise.

40. USB

Use this jack to connect the VT12 to a computer's
USB port. This provides access to additional editing via
the VT12 Control Panel software application, as well as
saving and restoring presets. It also provides the ability
to stream cabinet-emulated audio from the amplifier
over the USB connection to allow for direct-to-computer
recording.

41. PEDAL

This RJ-45 jack is used to connect the optional PB-1
pedal board or PB-4 four-button footswitch to the ampli-
fier using a standard Category 5 (Ethernet) cable.

42. EXTERNAL SPEAKER

Use this 1/4" TS (tip-sleeve) jack to connect an
external speaker (4 ohms or greater), for an even big-
ger sound. This jack is powered by a dedicated 30 watt
internal power amplifier. Use a two conductor speaker
cable to make this connection, not a shielded guitar
cable.

43. PHONES OUT

The 1/4" PHONES jack feeds a pair of stereo head-
phones; when the headphones are connected, the audio
output of the amplifier is muted. The headphone output
is cabinet-emulated so you hear the processed audio as
it would sound coming from the speaker.

44. PHONES LEVEL

Use this to adjust the volume of the headphones. Start
with the Phones Level turned all the way down, then
slowly turn up the Level control to a comfortable listen-
ing level.

45. LINE OUTPUT LEFT/RIGHT

These two male XLR jacks provide a balanced stereo
cabinet-emulated signal to external line-level devices.
The line outputs are always active.
