NOTE: Best results are obtained by using #60 or #80
lightweightthread for bobbin thread.
It is advisable to use a #11 blue stretch needle
when sewing knits and synthetic fabrics.
You can obtain buttonholeswith wider cutting
space by setting stitch width at 1.5 instead of 2.

(_ Base plate
Remove the extension table (accessory box). Raise the
needle to its highest position by turning the handwheel
counterclockwise. Remove the foot holder. Pull bobbin thread
about 3" (7.0 cm) straight back toward the rear of the
machine. Insert the hook of the base plate 0 into the
rectangular hole on the needle plate (_. Pull lever Q back to
align the hook with the rectangular hole. Snap base plate ®
down to fit the two pins (_) at the back of base plate into the
two round holes on needle plate 0. Release the lever.
