Responding to Error Messages

If the touch panel displays any of these messages, follow the corresponding procedure.
Error Messages

Is the indicated cover open?
Are any covers open?

into the copier?
Is the indicated cassette out of paper? Load paper. If the same type of paper

Is the maximum storage capacity of
the optional side feeder exceeded?
Is paper of the specified size loaded in
the MP tray?
Is the MP tray running out of paper?
Are any transparencies loaded in the
MP tray?
Is the copier loaded with any paper of
a size that cannot be used under the
current settings?
Corrective Actions
Close all covers securely.
Close all covers securely.
Close the document processor.
Pull out the cassette and push in
securely.
Install the side feeder securely to the
copier.
Pull out the paper feeder and securely
push it all the way into the copier.

one of paper selection keys on the left
of the touch panel to switch to that

so that it becomes less than the
