Setting Up the USB Port
When using the USB port, after installing the printer driver, set the printer port setting
to the USB port.
For Windows 2000 or Windows XP and Windows Server 2003
Procedure

Check that the computer is on, and then switch off the printer.

Connect the USB cable and switch on the printer.
The computer automatically detects the new hardware and installs
necessary software. This concludes setup of the USB port.

From the Start menu, click Printers and Faxes (or Settings > Printers
depending on the OS).

Click the icon of this printer, and then select Properties from the File
menu.

Click the Ports tab, then select the USB port and click OK to apply the
setting.
