1.1 Checklist

Check the contents of your package for following parts:
l WGSW-14020.
l CD-ROM.
l Quick Installation Guide
l Power cord.
l 19" rack-mount brackets.
l RS-232 cable.
If any of these pieces are missing or damaged, please contact your dealer immediately, if
possible, retain the carton including the original packing material, and use them against to
repack the product in case there is a need to return it to us for repair.

1.2 About the Switch

WGSW-14020 is a powerful, high-performance 14G+2slot 10/100/1000Mbps Fast
Ethernet and Gigabit managed switch with fourteen 10/100/1000Mbps ports and two
slide-in slot. The available modules including 10/100/1000Base-T, 1000Base-SX and
1000Base-LX. It is ideal for backbone connection to other workgroup products.
WGSW-14020 provide switch stacking function to manage up to 8 switches by single IP
address. Through its proprietary management bus using standard RJ-45 cable, the
distance between stacked switches can be up to 800m. The management bus traffic is
separated from the network ports, ensuring heavy network loading not affect management
tasks. You can manage up to 128 Gigabit Ethernet ports by just an IP address.
With much powerful software capability, the device could be managed by console, telnet
and the web. SNMP MIB II, Bridge MIB and enterprise private MIB are also supported to
get the maximum management functionality. This is much useful for system manager to
monitor the system efficiently. Moreover, the rich diagnostic LEDs also provide a good
way for troubleshooting. The standard IEEE 802.1Q with VLAN tagging feature makes
logically separating nodes easier with up to 255 VLAN groups allowed. Port trunking is
also supported with up to 8 trunk groups on single switch.
troubleshooting by sniffer software, WGSW-14020 also supports port mirror to duplicate
up to 2 ports' transmitting and receiving packets to specified sniffer port.
