Use the 1/L, 2/R and 3-4 knobs on the front of the unit to adjust
the input levels.
If the input levels are too high, the peak indicators to the left of
the 1/L, 2/R and 3-4 knobs light red.
A b mark is provided at –12 dB on the level meters. Set the
input level so that the indicator bars move to and fro with this
mark at about the center without causing the 1/L knob, 2/R
knob, 3-4 knob PEAK indicator to light red when the loudest
sounds occur.
CAUTION
During mic input, this lights if distortion occurs in the analog
circuitry. During line level input, this does not light even if
distortion occurs in the analog circuitry.
NOTE
To monitor the sound while adjusting the input levels or
recording, connect headphones to the PHONES jack.
Use the PHONES jack volume control to adjust the monitoring
level. Changing the monitoring volume does not affect the
recorded sound.

When finished making the setting, press the stop (8) [HOME]
button to exit recording standby.
