This section describes important tasks you perform using the
Operator Panel buttons and menu selections.
Taking the Printer Offline and Online
Press the Go/Continue button to switch between the online
and offline states.
note:
The printer must be offline before you can change
any printer settings. It must be online to print.
While the printer is offline, it continues to receive data until
its input buffer is full. If you press the Go/Continue button
while the printer is printing, it finishes the current page, and
then waits for you to bring it online again.

Setting Media Type

When you load a new paper type into the tray, you should set
the Media type. By default the printer is set to handle
medium weight (16–28 lb) paper. If you do not specify the
correct media type print quality may be poor because the
printer will move the paper at the wrong speed. To change
the Media type, on the Operator Panel press the Go/
Continue button to take the printer offline. Then, press the
Menu button to display

press the Select button, then the Go/Continue button to
bring the printer online again.
note:
Choose "Thin" only if you are using 16lb. paper in
high heat (90.5° F / 32.5° C) or humidity (over 80%)
weather conditions.

Stopping a Print Job

If you wish to stop a print job before it is complete, simply
press the Cancel button while the printer is online.

Cleaning the Fuser Unit

If random spots are appearing on the back of your print outs
use the following steps to clean the internal fuser unit.
1.
Press Go/Continue .
OFFLINE
2.
Press Menu until
SERVICE MENU
3. Press Select until
FUSER CLEAN
4.
Press Select and the printer will print out a double-sided
page. The panel displays

Restoring Factory Defaults

To restore factory default settings to the printer
1.
Press Go/Continue .
OFFLINE
2.
Press Menu until
JOB MENU
3.
Press Item until
FACTORY SETTINGS

4.
Press Select and
