Printer messages provide useful information for progress
checks and troubleshooting. These messages are displayed
on the printer Operator Panel.
Status Messages
Status messages appear on the printer Operator Panel and
report normal operating conditions. For example,

Operator Panel, for detailed explanations of the messages.
Service Messages
If a major problem occurs, the Operator Panel will display
the
message preceded by an error message.
CALL SERVICE
You must call an authorized service representative to resolve
this problem. Report the code when you call to assist in
diagnosing the problem.
Refer to Chapter 5, "The Operator Panel," for detailed
explanations of the messages.

ESSAGES
PRINTING
Alert Messages
Alert messages appear on the printer Operator Panel when a
condition occurs that causes normal printing to be
suspended. Often, operations can be recovered without
losing data by removing the source of the problem. Other
conditions require the printer to be turned off and then on
again to reset it, in which case, any data is lost.
The following table lists messages that the Operator Panel
can display.
Message
The Toner Cartridge is getting low on
toner. This message is displayed
when the Toner Low parameter in the
Configuration Menu is set to STOP.
Although the print quality may not be
best due to low toner density,
pressing the Continue button causes
the printer to go online and allows the
user to continue to use the printer.
The Top Cover and/or the Back
Cover has been left open and must be
closed for normal operation to
continue.

Cartridge is not installed in the
printer, even if both covers are
closed.
Tray (N) (where N is Tray 1, 2 or 3) is
empty and must be filled with the
specified paper (P) (where P is the
paper size)*.

When SOURCE is set to AUTO on the Operator Panel and another tray has the
specified paper, the amber LED is blinking.
When SOURCE is not set to AUTO and all trays are empty the amber LED is ON.
