USING THE PRINTER

VERVIEW
This chapter gives you the information you need to load
paper and begin printing from any of the paper trays. Topics
include:
Using the Multipurpose Tray (Tray 1)
Loading paper in the 500-sheet 2nd Cassette (Tray 3)
Duplex printing
Manual printing
Printing envelopes
Printing transparencies
Printing on label sheets

The Multipurpose Tray provides a
convenient way to print envelopes,
transparencies, or other media types without
having to unload the 500-sheet Cassette.
U
SING THE
The Multipurpose Tray (Tray 1) can hold up to 100 sheets of
medium weight paper. Label sheets, transparencies, and
envelopes can also be loaded into the Multipurpose Tray.
Instructions for loading these other media are provided later
in this chapter.
To load paper in the Multipurpose Tray, follow the
instructions below:
1. Open the Multipurpose Tray and extend the tray as
shown (A).
2.
Flex the paper stack and fan the sheets (B).
3. Place the paper print-side-up against the left side of the
Multipurpose Tray (C).
4. Push the MP Paper Guide to the left so that it rests
against the side of the paper (D).
5.
To print continuously from the Multipurpose Tray, set the
paper source to Tray 1.
6.
To print manually from the Multipurpose Tray, set the
paper source to Tray 1 (Manual) in the printer driver or
Operator Panel. See page 67
