Calibrating the
Appropriate Settings
Automatically
[AUTO CALIBRATION]
D. C. A. C. (Digital Cinema Auto Calibration)
can set the appropriate surround sound
automatically.
• The system outputs a loud test sound when [AUTO
CALIBRATION] starts. You cannot turn the vohune
down. Give consideration to children and neighbors.
• Make sure that the headphones are not connected to
the unit or surround amplifier% You cannot operate
the following Steps with the headphones connected.

Press FUNCTION +/- repeatedly until
"DVD" appears in the front panel
display.
2 Press O DISPLAY while the system is
in stop mode.
The Control Menu display appears on the
TV screen.
3 Press i,/4, to select _ [SETUP],
then press @.
The options for [SETUP] appear.

Press ,I,/4, to select [CUSTOM], then
press @.
The Setup Display appears.
5 Press ,I,/4, to select [AUDIO SETUP],
then press @.
The options lor [AUDIO SETUP] appear.

Press ,I,/4, to select [AUTO
CALIBRATION], then press @.
The options lk)r [AUTO CALIBRATION]
appear.

Connect the calibration mic (supplied)
to the A.CAL MIC jack on the front
panel
Set up the calihration mic at the ear level
using a tripod, etc. (not supplied).
The flout of each speaker should face the
calibration mic. and there should be no
obslruclion between the speakers and the
calibration mic.

Press ÷/÷ to select [YES].
Press @.
[AUTO CALIBRATION] starts.
Be quiet during the measurement.
• Before [AUTO CALIBRATION], make sure
that the surround amplifier turns on and you
install the surround amplifier in the appropriate
location. If you install the surround amplifier in
all improper location, such as another FOOIII_
proper measurement will not be obtained.
(DAV-HDX275/DAV-HDX475 only.)
• Avoid being in the measurement ,rea and
making noise during the measurement (about 3
minute), to avoid measurement fi61ure. During
the measurcmenL test signals are output from
the speakers.
• The environment of the room in which the
system is installed may aflL, c t measurements.
