When
you find the point where you want
to continue
record-
ing (e.g. the last frame before the commercial),
stop operating
the buttons.
After 3 seconds, the VCR will return
to record
pause,
and you will see the live picture.
O
Press
the PAUSE
button
(NOT the REC button)
to resume
recording
(when the commercials
are over).
Edit search will begin any time you are in recoord-pause
and
operate
the REW or FF buttons.
Edit search
'_ll end after 3
seconds
of not using the buttons.
Speed searching
You can use speed search to visually
search
through
the contents
of a videotape.
To do this:
O
While playing
a tape, press FF or REW button
on the remote
control. You will see the picture
as it fast fol_vards
or :rewinds.
It is normal
to see some "noise bars."
O
To resume
normal
playback,
press FF or REW again quickly,
or press PLAY.
The fastest
search speed that
allows you to see the picture
is
about 10 times norma!
speed. Using fast forward
or rewind
without
the picture
allows you to search up 75 times normal
speed. The fastest
way to move through
the tape is without
a
picture.
It is normal
tbr the number
of noise bars on the screen to
increase
as the visual
search speed increases.
It is also normal
for
the bars to roll from top to bottom
as the speed increases.
spot check
This feature
allows you to visually
check the position
of the tape
during
fast forward
or rewind.
O
While the tape is in fast forward
or rewind
(without
picture),
press and hold either
the FF or REW button
(whichever
is the
same as what the tape is doing).
After a short delay, you will see the contents
of the videotape,
still in speed search.
The picture
will stay o::athe screen
as
long as you hold down the button.
When you release
the button,
the tape wiill resume
fast
forwarding
or rewinding
without
a picture.
