I have problems sending and receiving
email
Short periods of time when email is
unavailable are common due to server
problems or poor wireless coverage. If you
have problems sending or receiving mail
for an extended period of time, check with
your ISP or email service provider to verify
that the service is working properly.
Auto Sync is not working
If Auto Sync is occurring and you turn your
smartphone off or the connection to your
email service provider is disconnected, the
Auto Sync fails.
Check the synchronization schedule to
make sure that Auto Sync is set to
occur at the expected day and time. See
Setting the synchronization schedule for
details.
Press Start
, select Programs, and
then select ActiveSync
Menu
(right action key) and select
Configure Server. Make sure that the
verify password setting is on. This is
required for over-the-air synchronization.
I have problems sending email
If you are able to receive email messages
but cannot send them, try these steps,
in turn:
Make sure your ISP or email provider
allows you to access email on a
smartphone. Some providers do not
offer this option at all; other providers
require an upgrade to access email on a
smartphone.
Turn on ESMTP . Many services require
authenticated access, or ESMTP , to use
their SMTP servers.
Press Start
then select ActiveSync
Menu
Configure Server. Make sure the SSL
box is checked.
Enter the name of a different outgoing
mail server for sending mail. Many ISPs,
such as cable companies, require that
