Various Settings

Displaying POI information

Press the [MODE] button for more

than one second while POI marks
are displayed.
POI selection mode is switched ON or
OFF each time the button is pressed
for more than a second. The POI mark
flashes when POI selection mode is
ON.
ATTENTION
When POI selection mode is switched ON the
functions of audio buttons [1] to [6] (RANDOM,
REPEAT, radio, pre-set, etc.) are unavailable.
Press the button [1] to [5] to

display the POI information.
POI information for the selected
number is displayed.
The following POI information is
displayed:
• Name
• Telephone number
• ZIP code
• Address
When the page up/page down mark
( / ) is displayed, press [SELECT]
(Upper/Lower) button to switch to the
previous/next page.
Press the button [6] to switch POI
selection mode OFF.
Press the [RTN] button to return to the
map screen.

Route simulation settings

When route simulation is set to ON and the
system has finished reading the Area Shot data,
a series of maps is displayed from the starting
point to the destination when Area Shot mode is
selected. This allows you to confirm the route to
your destination.

The Menu Selection mode is activated.
Press the [SELECT] (Upper/Lower)

the [ENTER] button.
The function mode is activated.

press the [ENTER] button.
The Area Shot setting mode is
activated.
Press the [SELECT] (Upper/Lower)

button to select Route Simulation
then press the [ENTER] button.
The Route Simulation setting mode is
activated.
Press the [SELECT] (Upper/Lower)

button to select Route Simulation
setting ON/OFF.
Press the [CUSTOM] or [RTN]

The Route Simulation will start.
Operations when an optional
GPS unit is connected
The following functions can be operated in
addition to the standard functions when an
optional GPS unit is connected:
• Automatic map-switching
• Guidance tone
• Automatic volume adjustment (See page 90)
• GPS information display
