5. Adjusting the Tension of the
Scanner Drive Cable
If you have replaced the scanner
drive cable, be sure to perform the
following to adjust the tension:
1) Remove the five mounting screws,
and remove the upper left cover.
2) Loosen the fixing screw on the
tension spring bracket.
3) Turn the tension adjusting screw
until the value is as follows:
• Turn the tension adjusting screw A
so that the reading of the spring
gauge is 200 ±50 g when the
scanner cable is pulled about 10
mm at the center.

6. Positioning the Mirror

If you have replaced the scanner
drive cable, be sure to adjust the
position of the mirror as follows:
1) Move the No. 1 mirror mount and
the No. 2/No. 3 mirror mount to the
left.
2) Set the mirror positioning tool (front,
rear; FY9-3011) as shown.
3) Loosen the two screws on the metal
clamps used to fix the scanner drive
cable to the No. 1 mirror mount.
4) Remove the tool.
