Entering a destination and navigating

Select "Dest. input –> New dest. –>
City/ postc.".
The "typewriter" appears.
You may have to select the destina-
tion country from a list first.
Move the cursor to the character re-
quired and confirm your selection.
All entries on the map CD which fit
with the characters entered so far
will be displayed in a list at the bot-
tom left of the screen.
Non-selectable characters are dis-
played as dots and will be passed
over automatically by the cursor.
Enter the town name or postal code
and confirm you entries,
or:
Select the desired town from the list.
If this matches with a town on the map CD it will be displayed automatically.
Confirm the town displayed with "OK".
Deleting incorrectly entered characters
Press the CLR button quickly to delete the character just entered.
Press the CLR button for a longer time to delete all the characters.
Entering a street, house number or crossing
After you have confirmed the city entered the destination input menu will appear
again. You then have the opportunity to specify the destination address in more detail
with a street, a house number or a crossing.
After entering the destination address select "Guidance" in the destination input
menu.
A route criteria query appears.
Select the desired criterion for the route planning and confirm.
Four route criteria are available:
Fast
Short
Main roads
No main roads
The route will be planned and the guidance screen appears.
In addition to the route criteria, various options for route planning can be set in the
setup menu (e.g. avoiding toll roads, ferries etc.).
