Adding or replacing a CD or DVD drive

In the BIOS Setup utility, restore any settings that you wrote down in

Save all your settings and exit the BIOS Setup utility.

To add or replace a CD or DVD drive:
Remove the side panel by following the instructions in

Remove the front bezel by following the instructions in

front bezel" on page
If you are installing a new drive, go to

- OR -
If you are replacing an existing drive, disconnect the cables from the drive,
noting their locations and orientation. You will reconnect the cables after
you install the new drive. (CD/DVD drive shown.)
Remove the drive thumbscrew from the CD or DVD drive.

Slide the drive release latch toward the back of the computer to release

the drive.
Slide the drive forward and out of the drive bay.
