SPARK PLUG

If electrode is stained or clearance is not
right, satisfactory spark is not produced.
Clean and make adjustment.
① Put your hand between right body
cover and muffler, and remove the
spark plug cap.
② Clean around the plug.
③ Using a plug wrench, remove the plug.
④ Clean plug with plug cleaner.
⑤ Check electrode for wear and corro-
sion.
⑥ Check the plug gap using a feeler
gauge.
PLUG GAP : 0.6~0.7mm

⑦ Tighten with hands until the plug
washer touches cylinder head.
STANDARD PLUG
:BP6HS(DOMESTIC)
:BRP6HS(EUROPE)
⑧ If new plug is installed, turn 1/2 and
tighten using a plug wrench. (Torque:
14kgf.m)
If plug is reused, turn 1/3~1/4 and
tighten.
⑨ Install in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION
●If plug of different maker or different
heat value is used, it causes
unsatisfactory
engine
inadequate engine revolution and
output deterioration.
●The spark plug must be securely
tightened. An improperly tightened
plug can become very hot and possibly
damage the engine.
●To install a spark plug, turn it in as
far as possible with your fingers, then
tighten it with a wrench.
●Do not overtighten or cross thread
the spark plug or the aluminum
threads of the cylinder head will be
damaged. Do not allow contaminants
to enter the engine through the spark
plug hole when the plug is removal.
