Using Email Server Protection
Management of email server protection
Task
For option definitions, click ? in the interface.
•
On the Dashboard page of the SecurityCenter, check for action items pertaining to email server
protection and take the appropriate action.
Type of Action Item
You have one or more alerts.
You need to install software.
Viewing detection and status information
Use this task to open the Email Server Protection report, which lists identification, status, and
detection summary information for each protected email server in your account.

Description
An alert notifies you when:
• An email server has not sent
protection data to the
SecurityCenter in two days.
• DAT files on the email server
have not been updated in the
last three days.
• Critical processes are not
running on the email server.
This type of action item is not
dismissible.
This type of action item notifies
you when updates are available
for the protection software
(such as patches and hotfixes).
This type of action item is
dismissible.
Resolution
• Click the button associated
with the action item to read
about the alerts and how to
resolve them.
• Click the button associated
with the action item to open
a page with a link to
download the software.
• Click Dismiss Alert to remove
the action item from the
Dashboard page without
installing software.
