Follow this procedure to remove a processor or a terminator.

Before removing the backplane you must remove the top cover

To remove a processor or a terminator perform the following steps:
Press down on the black tab on the heat sink clip and release the heat sink clip.
NOTE: There is no heat sink on a terminator.

Lift the heat sink clip off the heat sink.
51.
Lift the heat sink off the processor package.
52.
Grasp the lever on the side of the processor socket and press outward to disengage it from
the tab.
