DATA STORAGE DEVICES

The system board in the computer supports the following storage devices:
T
up to two diskette drives, including the standard 1.44-MB diskette drive
T
up to four IDE devices such as IDE hard disks and an IDE CD-ROM reader.
Other storage devices might require the installation of a compatible controller board.

Device Bays

The PowerMate system has four storage device bays:
T
a 3 1/2-inch accessible device bay which contains the standard 1.44-MB diskette
drive
T
one 3 1/2-inch internal hard disk drive bay (1-inch high, thin-height)
Hard disk configurations come with an IDE hard disk installed.
T
two 5 1/4-inch accessible device bays (1.6-inch high, half-height)
In multimedia models, one accessible device bay contains the standard CD-ROM
reader.
Other accessible devices (diskette drive, tape drive, CD-ROM reader) can be
installed in the 5 1/4-inch bays.
A hard disk with a 5 1/4-inch form factor can be installed in the 5 1/4-inch bays.
