Preparing the Camera

This section describes the procedures required to prepare the camera for use.

Using the Battery Pack

Use rechargeable Battery Pack NB-4H, which
is bundled with the camera, as the battery
power source. Ensure that the battery pack
has been fully charged before you install it in
the camera.
• Compact Power Adapter CA-PS200 can
be used with power supplies ranging
from 100 to 240 volts.

Charging the Battery Pack

• The battery pack requires approximately 70
minutes to charge fully from a completely
discharged state (as charged with Compact
Power Adapter CA-PS200 according to
standard Canon testing conditions).
Charging times will vary with the ambient
temperature and charge state of the
battery pack.
To protect and prolong the battery pack
life, do not charge it longer than 24 hours
at a time.
• Do not charge the battery pack in poorly
ventilated areas.
• Remove the power cord from the outlet
when charging is complete or the compact
power adapter is not in use.
• Do not charge batteries other than Battery
Pack NB-4H with the compact power
adapter.
