Shooting with a Flash

An optional flash may be attached to the
camera to accommodate full-fledged flash
photography. EOS Speedlite EX series flashes
(220EX and 380EX) are recommended for use
with this camera.
• The flash will not fire in continuous
shooting mode.
• Subjects shot with a flash from less than
one meter may be inconsistently
illuminated.
• Please read the manual accompanying
the flash.
Attach the flash to the camera's accessory
shoe as shown.

Using a 220EX or 380EX Flash

1. Turn on the flash's power switch and
set the camera's mode dial to auto or
program.
• Auto Mode
The flash exposure will be set automatically.
Shoot with the subject centered in the
optical viewfinder.
• Program Mode (aperture set to auto)
The flash exposure will be set automatically.
Shoot with the subject centered in the
optical viewfinder.
