Figure 3 is an illustrated description of the sequential steps in the cycling of the 1230 dispense valves.
Material fills the valve through
the material inlet port located on
the inlet block and fills the spool
and dispense chamber.
The metering rod moves down,
pushing material through the
diaphragm check valve, and out the
dispense needle.
The 1230 Dispense Valve has a simple fourstep operation, Normal (Home), Shift, Dispense, and Reload.

Air is supplied to the dispense
port which moves the metering
rod down.
Air is shifted back to the fill
position. The metering rod moves
back up, drawing material through
the inlet port.
