'Automatic Reverse Playback
Upon
conclusion
of the first side
of the tape,
the tape
direction will automatically reverse to begin playback of
'the other side. This reversing action is activated by a short
strip of sensing foil which must
be applied as outlined in
'one of the procedures below.
For a Pre-recorded Tape
Use the fast Forward mode to transfer all tape to the
right side reel, then locate the point where the first
selection begins on side 2. (Reverse playback).
b. Apply a short piece (1/2" to 1") of sensing tape foil
(Scotch #51 or equivalent) to the outer side of the
tape. (The side which does not contact the Record or
Play heads). Center the foil so that no adhesive extends
past the edge of the tape.
. Rewind several feet of tape back onto the left side reel.
Begin Forward Playback B and test the feature. When
the foil reaches the Tape Guide Post, the tape transport
should momentarily stop and then begin Reverse
Playback automatically. If reversing action does not
occur, check these points:
1. Sensing foil too short or not centered will not work
correctly.
2. Sensing foil located too near the end of tape may cause
the tape to become separated from the reel before
Reverse Playback can begin.
Dirty contacts on the Tape Guide Post or tarnished
sensing foil may prevent proper sensing action.
For a New or Unrecorded Tape
Apply the sensing tape about 3 feet from the end of
the tape on the outside surface. (Surface that does not
contact the record or playback heads).

Record side 1 of the tape in the normal manner and
continue recording until near the end of tape where
sensing foil is applied.

_Inter-change the reels and begin recording
side 2 of the
tape from just to the left of the point where the
sensing tape is applied.
Note that if the sensing foil passes over the sensing head in
the left Tape Guide Post during record or Forward Play
mode the tape will stop and Reverse Play will begin.

Automatische Riickwarts-Wiedergabe
Wenn die erste Bandseite ganz abgespielt ist, wird die
Bandabspielrichtung automatisch umgekehrt und die
Wiedergabe der der anderen Seite beginnt. Dieser Umschalt-
vorgang wird von einem kurzen Stiickchen Abtastfolie
ausgeldst, das wie in einem der folgenden Abschnitte
erldutert auf das Band geklebt werden mu,
Im Falle eines bespielten Bandes:
a. Spulen Sie mit der Betriebsfunktion Schnelivorlauf das
ganze Band auf die rechte Spule. Dann suchen Sie die
Stelle, an der die erste Aufnahme auf Seite 2 beginnt

nun ein Kleines Stickchen (2 bis 2,5 cm)
{Scotch Nr. 51 oder ein gleichwertiges
Band) auf die AuBenseite des Bandes. (Die Seite, die
nicht mit den Aufnahme- oder Wiedergabe-Tonk:
in Berahrung kommt). Passen Sie Band und Folie genau
bereinander, so da kein Klebstoff an den Rindern
des Bandes Ubersteht..
c. Spulen Sie ein grdGeres Stick Band auf die linke Spule
zuriick. Dann schalten Sie auf Vorwirts-Wiedergabe P
um auszuprobieren, ob das Umschalten funktioni
Wenn die Abtastfolie
die Bandfihrungsrolle erreicht,
sollte das Band kurz angehalten werden und dann
automatisch in umgekehrter Richtung anlaufen und
mit der Riickwarts-Wiedergabe beginnen. Erfolgt keine
Umschaltung, priffen Sie bitte folgende Punkte nach:
1, Ein zu kurzes Stiickchen Abtastfolie oder ein nicht
'genau zentriertes funktioniert nicht richtig.
2. Befindet sich die Folie zu nahe am Bandende, so ist es
méglich, da das Band von der Spule abgewickelt wird,
bevor die Riickwarts-Wiedergabe eingeschaltet wird.
3. Verschmutzte
Kontaktstellen
auf
der
Band:
fahrungsrolle oder Schmutz auf der Abtastfolie beein-
'trchtigt das Abtasten und damit
das Umschalten.
Im Falle eines neuen oder unbespielten Bandes:
a.
Kleben
Sie
die
Abtastfolie
etwa
einen
Meter
vor
Bandende
auf die Bandseite, die nicht mit den Auf-
nahme- oder Wiedergabe-Tonképfen in Berdhrung
kommt.
b.
Bespielen
Sie nun
Aufnahmen
bis nahe an
befindet.

Wechsein
Sie nun
die Spulen gegeneinander
aus und
beginnen
Sie mit dem
Aufnehmen
auf Seite 2 genau
links von der Folie.
Beachten
Sie,
da® in den Betriebsgingen
Aufnahme
oder
Vorwarts- Wiedergabe, wenn die Abtastofolie den Abdast-
kopf in der linken Bandfiihrungsrolle passiert, der Bandlauf
angehalten
wird
und
dann
Rickwarts-Wiedergabe
beginnt.
